Camp is a great way for students to develop risk taking skills (important for lifelong learning), build independence and develop their social and emotional competencies as they problem solve through situations. It is also a cherished memory that will last a lifetime! The students had a fantastic trip to Canberra. It was a brilliant opportunity to see our parliamentary system in action, significant Australian institutions such as the National Library, AIS and the Mint, all are such an important part of Australian history.
Thank you Miss Hannah in particular for organising the Year 5/6 camp – an extremely time consuming task with so many OHS and safety checks and processes to be accounted for. Thank you also to Mrs Sandra Douglas, Miss Riley Bolton and our parent helper Mr Dean Woods. Without parental support, we just wouldn’t be able to offer such brilliant programs.
